This is an original M-16 German Luftwaffe helmet. It was first issued in WW-1 then reissued prior to WW-2 as an apple green double decal. The helmet was later field painted with wartime green brushed on and a single decal applied, most of that decal is gone. The paint fills the markings but by measurement the shell is a 68, confirmed by inserting reproduction liners, the shell is definately a 68. Looks like a TJ made shell (TJ68) Unfortunately the helmets value is probably greatest as a shell to sand and repaint due to the rarity of size 68 WW-1 shells. But that's up to you.
